This is not what the notwithstanding clause was designed for. This would be a very dumb thing to use here. The bike lanes are not that bad.

that’s an interesting legal challenge. I don’t understand how that can work but it wouldn’t be the first thing I didn’t understand. Why are provincial governments getting involved in municipal matters in the first place? The people that vote in those areas decide if they want bike lanes.
