I can’t imagine becoming a parent and having 1/3rd of the population be supportive of this. The idea that you can’t trust 1 of 3 people to not be a potential pedophile or pedophile supporter is fucking insane. I’d constantly be thinking about them.

Fuck no, I’d move somewhere else to raise my children in a society that’s safe and free of Republicans entirely.

    2. >Utah state law says that people under the age of 14 can never consent to sex, and the old state statute required that 18-year-olds receive a first-degree child rape felony charge for having sex with anyone 13 years old or younger. The felony charge required the rapist to also register as a sex offender. However, the new law allows accused rapists 18 years old and younger to receive a reduced third-degree felony charge of unlawful sexual activity (and avoid jail time and registration as a sex offender) if they’re enrolled in high school.

      >The new law was drafted by the relative’s defense attorney, Cara Tangaro, and sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Kirk Cullimore (R) after Adams reportedly confided in him about his relative’s legal charges. The new law, S.B. 213, adjusted various criminal sentences to address “unintended consequences or overly harsh or unfair outcomes” in various criminal charges, Tangaro said.

      >Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) signed S.B. 213 into law on March 19, 2024. Two months later, Tangaro informed Judge Michael DiReda, the judge who was then presiding over the case, that the accused rapist’s plea deal would be changed in light of the new law. As a result, the accused rapist avoided jail time and a lifetime on the sexual offender registry.

      >But for now, the accused rapist will serve four years’ probation, complete sex offender treatment, pay a $1,500 fine, and perform 120 hours of community service. The unnamed victim’s mother says she feels that the legal process “has failed them,” the victim’s attorney Tamara Basquez said. The mother said the sexual abuse has made her child, an 8th-grade student, more withdrawn and careful, and less interested in being around her friend.

      >Several months after voting for S.B. 213, Adams and other Utah state Republican leaders [issued a statement](https://www.fox13now.com/news/local-news/cox-other-leaders-ask-utah-state-to-join-in-lawsuit-over-alleged-mountain-west-transgender-player) claiming that they were very concerned about the safety of girls and women in the context of transgender people participating in sports.

Why do we keep acting like Christian nationalists have any sort of „concern“ for children, except to use them as Christian child soldiers and future broodmares?

Christian nationalists love to act like trans people pose great risks to trans people, even as evidence shows trans people are more likely to be victims of assaults. Yet, somehow, the media won’t even dare acknowledge that. They just continue to allow Christian nationalists to wage a genocide on trans people with no pushback. This is horseshit!

The GOP loves child rape. They love it! They back it, they vote for it. They love it!

I never thought I’d actually see 77.3 million voting-aged child sexual assault enthusiasts in this country.

    5. “Those trans people are getting to the kids before we can!”

      Is the GOP thought process

From the womb to a Republican’s room. There’s a reason these creeps always “think about the children” and it has nothing to do with safety.

Maga protects pedophiles and truly believe their treasonous acts will go unpunished.

    8. Any_Will_86 on

Why do all the ’save the children‘ and ‚protect women’s sports‘ types never once comment on this? I know the answer but simply asking in frustration.

Adams swears he neither requested nor helped draft the 2024 law that aided his relative. Wink wink, nudge nudge.

    10. What’s hilarious about these conservatives is they always imagine trans people as men in blonde wigs and makeup sneaking into the women’s bathrooms.

Like, what do you do about trans men, those who started as women but are now fully male?

Imagine being a woman at work, suddenly this big bearded man comes in to wash his hands in the women’s restroom. You ask if he knows he’s in the women’s restroom and he sighs and says “yeah, I used to be a woman, company wants me to use restrooms based on what I was at birth, so here I am.”

Anti-trans advocates love to spout the whole “what is a woman” thing, but you can’t tell me a dude who’s got chest hair, a beard, and clearly acts like a man is actually a woman. I get it, there’s various stages of transitioning, it can be confusing if someone’s in the middle, but there’s a dang point where if someone’s transitioned far enough, they’ve clearly switched.

Also, always hilarious when the guys worried about “men entering the women’s room” end up being rapists or covering for one. The fact this has happened more than once feels like projection, like that’s what they’d do if they snuck into the women’s room.

Cool story! I (a trans woman) haven’t once sexually assaulted anyone in a bathroom despite what the GOP says. Although I DID defend myself against a middle aged cis woman when she tried sexually assaulting me at a concert.

Don’t you just love the American legal system. Sarcasm if you need help

Something to be proud of don’t you think?!

Someone please explain why and how the hell politicians and lawyers can change the laws to their own liking without the approval of the public.

Land of the free to rape, pillage and the lack of brave to not put a stop to it.

PLEASE explain to me why America is regarded as a great leading nation when the general population stand by allowing this to happen.

Fuck the idea of oh I’ll vote for someone else later. Pull that lawmaker out of office today. Just don’t allow that person to be in the position of being electable.

Stand up for yourselves more importantly stand up for others people.

      Or just continue to

Because MAGA and the GOP are the party of pedophilia. It’s not even a secret anymore.

    14. Natural_Instance242 on

Name one Republican who is NOT a pedophile, rapist or sexual predator, or aiding other pedophiles, rapists, or sexual predators. I’ll wait.
