Good. Texas can’t just say „yeah we’re going to gerrymander the fuck out of the state with the express purpose of getting Republicans five more seats in the house“ and expect blue states to just go, „well gosh that’s sure wrong of you, nothing we can do about it.“ No, those days are over.
I’m totally against the concept of politicians choosing their voters, but the way to end gerrymandering is a universal mandate that affects all states equally. Political gerrymandering will never end just because blue states take a moral position and refrain from it, while red states do it on steroids. Until it is outlawed for the entire country, blue states need to fight fire with fire

If TX pulls this 💩 then NY, IL and CA should do the same. You need to fight fire with fire. Rules and courtesy are off the fng table now since we have a pedo felon in office who flagrantly disregards every rule out there.

There are 7 Republican seats in New York, gerrymander them into oblivion.

It’s seemingly the only way. Either force the Supreme Court to be blatantly corrupt yet again or have them force an end to the practice.

The New York court of appeals ruled in a 4-3 decision in 2022 that their proposed congressional maps were unconstitutional, causing a redraw, and a loss of 7 democratic seats.
7 additional democratic seats would change the balance of power in the house, which would mean the Republican Party didn’t control every branch of government.

Someone should make a case to SCOTUS that the Apportionment Act of 1911 and the Reapportionment Act of 1929 are unconstitutional. There is nothing in the Constitution that limits the total number of US Representatives.

Democrats have the majority in the country. If every blue state did what the red states have been doing for a while now, democrats would gain seats. Every blue state should do this in response and we will have a better representation of the actual population

Democrats talking this way is a step in the right direction…now FOLLOW THROUGH!!!! At this point they should redistrict to Democratic advantage in every blue state, regardless of whether the texas republicans manage to redistrict or not.
