It is a deliberate policy of de facto not having a minimum wage, because it has not been increased since 1999. So it’s a libertarian approach

You might be surprised to know that reputable studies have shown minimum wage policies have done more harm than good in Spain. Wages don’t rise sustainably by decree but by building a more productive economy. And trust me, Georgia is on a much better path than Spain in that regard

Why we need government then if they don’t care about our wellness? Minimum wage is important ofc

    5. Georgia essentially doesn’t have a minimum wage policy which is a good thing and hopefully stays that way.

Georgia has some of the highest poverty rates amongst European (or European aspirational) countries, yet also some of the most profitable large corporations (Georgian consumer banks are some of the most profitable in Europe).

Why is this the case? Because when the libertarians implement their insane no minimum wage agenda, the upper class gets to keep all of the profits and the working class gets starving wages.

It suits the power structures for this to be the case. If people have low wages they are forced to take out loans. If they take out loans they are forced to pay interest to the banks, who are also the ones influencing policy.

It’s the same in many countries but more extreme in Georgia due to the lack of social protection structures.
