The article doesn’t mention messaging, but the messaging from the NDP towards people in a position to make large donations has been bordering on hostile on top of everything else. Railing against elites is par for the course but Singh was going after “bosses” writ large in the last election.

It’s going to be a very rough road ahead for the federal r/NDP. Not insurmountable (the r/OntarioLiberalParty was able to claw their way back within 2 elections), but a very rough road.
I have no doubt that they’ll be able to get out of the wilderness, but some very tough choices will have to be made along the way (selling the Jack Layton building, etc). They’ll need a leader who is both convincing (for votes and money), and who is willing to make the tough decisions.
