      No one rallies round like the met police to protect its own predators. Never has a police force brought so much shame for it’s treatment of women and girls and minorities. Obviously the old guard is still in control at the met and they have no plans to change its reputation as the biggest threat to women and girls in the area they control

      The Guardian must’ve had some difficulty deciding to publish this. Do they run an anti Police piece even though it plays into the right wing conspiracy of hurty word arrests?

      First off, shockingly Police officers can be victims of crime. Second, just because something happens online doesn’t mean it’s not a crime. Three, „I only sent two messages…“ Great, what were the messages? Why didn’t The Guardian include a screenshot of them if they were nothing? Four, why did the police have to resort to an arrest? Was there a Code G necessity to arrest? This would’ve been told to her. Or was she (what I suspect happened) offered an appointment to come in and give a voluntary statement and refused? Or did she not show up to that appointment? This would lead to an arrest warrant being issued.

      Just like The Daily Mail, and Times articles about hurty word arrests there’s almost always way more to the story. Can’t even threaten to kill anyone online, or harass my ex partner on Facebook anymore. Free speech truly is dead!

      Absolutely mental that the „you get arrested for a tweet these days“ crowd suddenly become in favour of arresting people for hurty words when it suits them

      If the police arrive at 3 in the morning it’s about intimidation i had a mate where cops turned up at night on his farm got stuck then had to ask him for help he told them to get fucked by the time he got up there were more cop cars and 2 tow trucks stuck. It they would have come during the day they would have seen the warning sign …. I think he charged them to drag the cars out with the tractor in the end.
