One might be tempted by the promise of radical abundance, the idea that AI will take over labor and free you from the need to work. But there’s a deeper concern hiding behind that vision: what if it’s just another way of describing mass unemployment? As AI systems increasingly replace human jobs, the promise that you’ll „never need to work again“ could really mean handing over your economic power to those who control the technology. That’s one of the biggest challenges ahead. Even if society manages to achieve radical abundance and distributes its benefits fairly, you still have to ask: what happens after that?
Im sure the man that gave the world mechahitler waifu grok girlfriends is taking things very serious.
Mars is not livable. There are so many things that can go wrong. It is a suicide mission.
I used to argue in favor of a floating city on Venus, but that isn’t livable either. While it was technically significantly less suicidal, someone I know did the math for me and even the upper atmosphere isn’t easily escapable.
I’m now convinced, that we need to protect Earth at all costs. That’s where these billionaires should be putting their money. Not in trying to escape or „put your eggs in more baskets.“ There are no other baskets.
