We have an adjudicated rapist in the White House who said that you can grab women by the p*ssy, yet Mamdani must answer for his past comments about defunding the police? Okay.

I hope that when he wins, he keeps his promise to arrest Netanyahu if he steps foot in NYC.

You can ALWAYS tell what republicans fear because they attack it – like AOC, JB Pritzker, B. Sanders, etc..
This never fails.

Democrats are afraid too. Because he is a progressive with real ideas.

Mamdani will be the next president after becoming mayor.

They should be more afraid of their own actions that have driven the voters toward the progressive alternative.

Hey Republicans he’d only going to be a mayor. If he fails to deliver he’s out in one term.
What are you afraid of?
The most bad he can do is have a bad term as a Democrat and make NY ripe for a Republican to take office.
Maybe their real fear is he’s going to do a good job, maybe a really good job, even though he is a Muslim, he might be a great patriot.
He’s from a minority that represents less than 1.4% of the whole of America but is more than 25% of the minorities the GOP says should be feared.
“Be afraid” is much harder to pull off if the people who they say it about are not evil or bad at their jobs, duties or being neighbors.
That the most likely the real fear Republicans have.
Democrats, liberals and moderates fear Trump is doing harm on a national and international level. The fear is that his presidential term could be terminal to the America of 250 years.
That’s a fear that should scare every American.

Some Democrats sadly are as well
I wouldn’t doubt Trump and co really working to fuck with him. The last thing Republicans, some other politicians, and greedy ass people in power want us to see NYC thrive with a guy like this.

The Republicans don’t realize the severity of what’s happened here. They elected someone so disgusting that most people tuned out most of the dumb shit he said. He was „likable“ and „dynamic“ so Trump was their guy. Problem is, Dems can do that too. Adams and Cuomo are dredging up all these old quotes to try and make it stick to this guy, but the charisma is overpowering. He’s got the Bernie/AOC energy. And now that we have precedent that the President can do no wrong while in office, the next Dem presidency should be *very* worrying for Republicans.

Most people including a lot of Republicans like many of the progressive’s policies. I don’t understand how they get so much hate on both sides of the aisle.

I pray that Mamdani won’t be an outlier. Let this be the start of a broader movement to reform the party and boot out the old guard.

I don’t understand the angst about this guy. I get that NYC is a huge important city, but still. He’d only be mayor. What could he possibly do that would drastically affect rich people?

They should be because a socialist party means the Republican one probably dies and gets eaten by the Democrats (who already are pretty center right)

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Decent people everywhere should fear a rabid antisemite becoming mayor of a city that houses the largest population of Jews outside of Israel.

Both parties hate him because he is pushing for things that actually help the working class and the rich really do not want that sentiment to spread.
