    1. Yep, did well in the past. But as we all know, “past returns are no indication of future performance”

tldr; Bitcoin has consistently outperformed all major assets over the past two years, despite near-term selloffs driven by macroeconomic factors like tariffs and employment concerns. Between July 2023 and July 2025, Bitcoin surged by 301.7%, far surpassing the S&P 500’s 38% return, gold’s 69.8%, Ethereum’s 56%, and crude oil’s flat performance. Its predictable supply, decentralization, and growing adoption have fueled its dominance, proving its resilience and cementing its status as the top-performing asset class.

invest when others panic, hold when they doubt. that’s how Bitcoin turned a dip into dominance

„There is no second best“ is a cop-out for DYOR.

Ultimately cryptocurrencies derive value from utility. Bitcoin scores very low on the utility ranks as it’s usecase is considered „digital gold“ which one just holds and never really uses for anything, while hoping the prices goes up.

Eventually this will always lose out to a cryptocurrency that reaches wild spread adoption through high throughput, defi, stablecoin rails, etc.

Make up your own minds folks

I do think the amount of electricity it consumes is mind blowing and still a problem…but on the other hand, the size of the network is impressive.

Bitcoin stood the test of time, hopefully other great projects can do too.
