Because we have an independent judiciary, legal system and Police. The Government administration hasn’t prosecuted these people. The independent bodies like the Police have gathered evidence, the cps have weighed this evidence against laws written by the legislature that these cases break the law, and have been prosecuted. The executive have not demanded these people be prosecuted,
If they didn’t want jail time they should have kept their mouths shut and chucked bricks instead.

Can’t believe people are still trying to defend what happened last year. 🤣
UK has always come down hard on riots and rioters, especially since the 80s.
* A mosque was nearly burned down.
* Eastern Europeans were dragged out of vehicles and beaten up.
* Blacks were jumped by swarms of white men in broad daylight in front of families.
* Houses of minorities were targeted with arson and vandalism (note: not migrants or asylum seekers, but British ethnic minorities).
* Policemen and their properties were roundly targeted and damaged.
* Thousands of minority Asians and Blacks grouped together where the response to any Far-Right disorder could have been insane (see Birmingham).
* Social media was (and still is) awash with racist and prejudicial rhetoric and narratives.
* Those jailed pled guilty not for “hurty words”… but for inciting violence at a time a migrant hotel filled with hundreds of families was firebombed by “patriots”. They can consider themselves fortunste they were done for public disorder and not rioting
* Countless businesses on the high street were looted by said patriots.
It’s a wonder nobody got killed. The entire episode was so beyond words that several agitators like Farage even distanced themselves in panic.
