Thanks for the advice, but you know, practice what you preach. I’d love to hear a progress report on how the institutional kiddy diddling is going, and the acceptance of women as clergy – among many other issues *pertinent* to the goddamn *21st century.*

Jesus said to love. 2000 years later church still can’t learn or teach anything about it.

I’m sure Reddit will be pissed about this because Reddit but I’m liking him more and more. Especially what he’s had to say about the implementation of ai.

People forget that Biden and AOC are Catholic, that Obama and Harris are Baptist, and that like half of voting Democrats identify as Christian (including the vast majority of people being targeted for extrajudicial deportation)

Let me tell a bunch of old catholics then.

Release the original bible. I won’t touch King James‘ lies again.

    5. The problem is that people have very different ideas of a „better world“.
Especially the Catholic/religious ideas of a better world.

    6. I commend the idea, but a lot of them are gonna hear this as an invitation to double down on anti abortion, anti gay, erosion of separation of church and state efforts and all other evils of Christian conservatism.

      > „Seek justice in order to build a more humane world,“ he said. „**Serve the poor**, and so bear witness to the good that we would always like to receive from our neighbours.“

My mother is a lapsed Catholic: she still believes in God and Christianity, but she *abhors* the Catholic Church. One of her complaints about the Church runs a bit like this: „They don’t need all those expensive buildings, with the stained glass windows and the gold accessories. You don’t need all that to worship God. You can find God anywhere – like under a tree. If they were serious about helping the poor, they would sell all those buildings and all that gold, and use the money to feed poor people.“

Come on, Mr progressive caring Pope. That’s one of your ex-faithful explaining how your institution has failed to live up to your promises. It’s time to start walking the talk, mister. Let us see those deeds of sale. Let us see those coffers filling. And, finally, let us see the billions of euro, dollars, pounds, pesos, and so on, being put in the hands of poor people around the world. In fact, I believe you have [enough *cash* holdings](https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/how-rich-vatican-so-wealthy-it-can-stumble-across-millions-euros-just-tucked-away-1478219) to get started right now, even before you sell a single building or a single gold candlestick.

Yes build a better world he says to the young people who have no power to dictate anything the Oligarchs do with their endless wealth and politicians who have no morals.

We weren’t the ones who fked up the world but yeah sure „go ahead and fix it all young people!!!“

    9. Good deeds are great. However, young people have no power over the things that really matter. Capitalism will destroy us all. Through encouraging greed and ambition, Satan has won the battle.

(Explanation: I’m a disillusioned former Catholic who doesn’t believe that Jesus is omnipotent. I also reject the Old Testament).

Get rid of religion and you“ll remove half of humanity’s hatred and suffering.
