China would have been always hard – India has many non-trade things to worry – It does not help to insult the president of South Africa – Nothing more to say about Brazil

I don’t understand macroeconomics much, so just asking some questions to understand this better.

      * If every nation has tariffs (and everything gets expensive), doesn’t that mean that all imports get expensive without any meaningful change in the existing status? e.g. if Brazil, Indonesia, Vietnam are all at 30%, it just means coffee is getting more expensive for Americans or you end up buying from a different country that repackages the coffee.

      * If there is no trade imbalance, doesn’t that mean export-oriented economies make no (or very less) profit?

      * What happens to the dollar as a reserve currency in this scenario?

Is this map even correct ? For example, Madagascar was threatened with 47% tariffs a few months ago, but now was adjusted to 15%. Same for Vietnam which was negotiated down to 20% just a week or two ago.
