I like this dynamic where ford is the attack dog and carney is the diplomat. It seems to be accidentally working.

Imo if it’s escalating it’s not escalating by much.
Ford is in the enviable position of being the most powerful politician in the country who doesn’t have to actually deal with the US, allowing him to freely say what Canadians are feeling. The federal government should consider themselves lucky that the opposition wasn’t able to figure that formula out.
Then again, even if Carney was able to say what he was feeling, I don’t think he could put it as eloquently as Ford
