God, two things in Canadian politics guaranteed to be true. Ian Bushfield being wrong about nearly everything, and the Tyee being wrong about absolutely everything.
If anybody is wondering why, it’s that this is almost certainly guaranteed to fail getting enough signatures, as they have to get the old number of nearly 300,000. And when they fail, the separatists are going to use it as ammunition about how popular they are, and they’ll come in with their own question, and because they need to get far fewer signatures (something like 180,000), I bet they succeed.
