That’s great! For Russia. Actually, most things Trump is doing to weaken the US and fracture the West is good for Russia. Curious, that…

Where is this news coming from?

Trump puts tariff on India and in 24 hours this news comes out.

      > … during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s February visit to the White House. Trump had pitched the F-35 sale as a key plank in deepening bilateral ties, …

Thats it. That is all there is to it? An informal chat offer from 6 months ago?

When politicians meet, they discuss and propose everything. If Trump says you should buy F35 and India says we will think about it, it is hardly a news. It is bare minimum thats gets discussed between two heads.

Useless media. Just goes out and floods this news as an effort to make it look like India is countering something. No journalistic integrity at all.

Dumb how US wants to pay more for everything including basic consumer goods.

    4. I don’t think India is going to get the Su 57 either. I think the idea will be to manufacture as many LCA Mark 2’s and 1A’s as possible and backfill with another 50-75 Dassault Rafale.

Post 2030 try to get AMCA and try to join a 6th generation, GCAP has some chance as India has already has shown some basic interest to Japan.

Canada has had an F-35 deal on and off the table for a while. I’m hoping that this new development today ruins that possibility for good.

First of all, we don’t need the most modern top-end fighter in Canada, and second, his shitty actions need to have consequences. He can’t act like an entitled baby and expect his victims to still want be customers.

We really dont need these expensive jets which wont integrate with our Air defense or homegrown missiles.

We can take care of Pakistan problem with cheap rockets and artillery. Pakistan is just 400 km wide. Future variants of Indian homegrown Pinaka MBRL will 300 kms+ which we can fire all day long…..lmao

No country on the planet knows how to play the US better than Pakistan.

Penalties and exorbitant tariff rates on India for buying some of its oil and arms from Russia. —>
**Pakistan literally runs its entire economy and defence as a Chinese satellite. Only 19% concessional tariffs.**

*”Don’t be a member of BRICS” threats —>
Pakistan is China’s closest ally. No problem.

*Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan get bombed for terror links. —>
Osama Bin Laden is literally found in Pakistan. No consequences.

*Iran gets bombed for trying to build a nuclear weapon. —>
Pakistan does go nuclear, sends their nukes to NORTH KOREA, and proliferates nukes across the world. All is good.

      I’m in genuine awe.
Pakistan should run management seminars on how to pull this off. It could make billions of dollars.

In India’s POV tho, this just further vindicates why it won’t ever drop Russia anytime soon. American hypocrisy is too blatant and has been going on since the 1970s

    8. Trump is such a bonehead. The US only exports about $40 to $50 billion worth of goods to India, having good relations with them could have opened up not only much more in terms of military hardware but also more oil/energy, agricultural products, machinery etc. India has many options for all of these.

The only big vulnerability India has is service integration with the US (offshore workers).

Wasn’t there a whole thing with the US not wanting F-35s in India anyway because they purchased a bunch of Russian air defense systems and they didn’t want the radar signature of the plane to be seen regularly by Russian equipment?

I guess thats kind of moot after israel-iran though. Although that isn’t sustained, regular exposure.

Ha ha, yeah, they just stolen a neat aircraft from the Brits and reverse engineered it. There is no need to buy us made jets anymore

    11. Was India ever going to buy F-35s? They have been buying Russian, but the supply there no longer exists. They wanted technology share to buy French jets, but France did not agree to that. Swedish jets are a possibility but have the same tech share and production capacity issues as French jets. No way india ever buys Chinese, and they have been saying that F-35s were too expensive all along.

    12. To be fair, I’d be unlikely to buy a Ford if one broke down on my drive for 2 weeks.

    13. RichardThund3r on

Why on earth would we sell them F-35’s in the first place. Fuck India.

Regardless of this, we should just cut off all the H1B visas and off-shoring to India. It will definitely help with our new grads that are struggling to get entry level jobs and all of the lay offs in IT, software development and BPO in medium to senior level. A significant portion of India’s IT and BPO export revenue comes from the US.
