      > The majority of criticism lies with the illegal initiation schools, which officials say endanger the lives of their students by employing untrained physicians who often accidentally botch the circumcisions.

      > In 2024, complications due to faulty tools — old spears and razor blades were reportedly used on dozens of boys without being sanitized in between — led to a shocking 93 deaths and 11 amputations. Over the past five years, 361 boys have died, the Daily Mail reported.

This is horrific. Anything that requires you to mutilate your body should be banned, no matter what part of the world you’re in.

They’re quoting a new york post article and the daily mail. Is there a better source for this?

Hey I get it. The first few I can usually do no problem but once we get to the double digits I get a little sloppy

Male genital mutilation (aka circumcision) is common and accepted for religious and cultural reasons around the world, and complications are generally minimal, but the main issue here is that the procedure seems to done by a convulsing epileptic wielding an electric meat cutting knife.

My parents did it to me when I was 5. It hurt on the first days, then I had to wait for a month for all the stitches to fall, now Im here with my pinky head.

    7. Mass genital mutilation* FTFY.

This shit needs to stop everywhere, its not okay to do it to any baby. Boys or girls should be regarded as needing protection from this.

The absolute only other time is by medical requirement for special conditions; But outside of that should come with criminal penalties.

    8. I like how they say Africa without specifying where in the headline. Just say it’s South Africa lol.
