I gained some respect for her here. The interview was mostly meh. But if she’s serious about what she said, sounds like she’s going to travel the country and get to really figure out what things are like on the ground….. *good*. In her own words, she doesn’t want to be transactional. *Good*.

And she didn’t bite that stupid „I told you so“ bait that Colbert set up for her… she sounded like a serious adult here. *Good*. Sounds like she might have been pulled a little to the left throughout all of this. Even calling out fecklessness. *Great*.

Less moderate dumbassery, more real connection to people 👍 A woman *will* win.

I fully believe that higher offices should not be immune from criminal prosecution in any way. In fact, I think the standards should be higher and the penalties stiffer. We hold truck drivers and pilots to a higher standard than regular drivers because the consequences of them screwing up are higher. Why not the president and congress and judges? I know none of these people are going to actually reduce their own power, but that’s what needs to happen.

Also executive orders need to be eliminated, or at least greatly reduced in scope, and every one should have to pass a nonpartisan legal review.

the system is broken on many levels.
it’s not delivering decent living standards for enough people nor does it give you hope for a better future if you work hard.
the frustration that comes with this is then also easily harvested by media owned by rich people who can decide to either invest in the far right or in a fix of the system which would lead to them losing power over resources.

In an ideal system you need a tax system that ensures a fixed ration between median networth and highest networth that is not dangerous for the democracy. If you want to get richer, everyone else has to get richer as well.

Media needs to be designed as an official pillar of separation of powers, not a secret pillar.

that comes with state money but without or little political interfering just like the legal system should be.

the legal system needs more power of executive forces in order to ensure equal rights.

supreme court justices should have terms of fixed duration.

the voting system needs to be reformed to prevent gerrymandering.

Ironic.

This really seems like the starting line message of someone who realizes that part of the reason they lost last time was being pitched to voters as the person who will protect institutions many people don’t think have worked for them. If she wants to run again—which I think she does—she needs to start from the point of, “Yes, I agree with you that our system isn’t my working and that Trump has been abusing what doesn’t work about it. Here is how I’m going to fix it.” Being the change candidate, especially right now, is really powerful. I can’t imagine that people will feel better about our institutions—and Trump’s abuse of them—by 2028 either so it does feel prescient.

It’s taken decades to break and it hasn’t broken by accident.
