There is much better context provided . Critism and protesting are much different than harassment and gaslighting.
Nice to see the examples in partisan kick back from both sides .
I was kinda skeptical of the horse theory at one time , but when you overlay examples like this you see the behavior is really quite similar from both extreme ends .
It is actually pretty bizarre that someone like PP would have people form opinions on law and the application of law based on headlines alone.

Why is it so hard to believe that the Crown would be politically motivated to look for stronger sentences? We’ve already seen some of their American prosecutors take out the kid-gloves with Biden’s son, so much so that the judge rejected their proposal.
I appreciate the CBC’s attempt to be non partisan, but lets be clear about those who are attacking the Canadian democratic institutions: the „politicians“ are Conservative, and the „media“ is TrumpPostMedia.
Those are the forces trying to undermine Canada.
Maybe a slight bit off topic, but this stuck out to me.

It is simply bad publicity for a man to try to impeach the credibility a woman. We can speak from a point of ideals, but ideals and reality are two separate things. Justice may be blind, but the judge isn’t.
That’s just a matter of fact with how our society is, whether we like it or not.
If you want a clear example of this, during the SNC scandal it was only female LPC MPs who were allowed to ask questions. Anyone remember Judy Sgro saying ‚Put up or shut up?‘ Can you imagine if it was a man telling a woman that?
This situation led to some pretty comical moments like one of their backbencher female MPs being critical of JWR in cabinet meetings followed by JWR telling her rather frankly she wouldn’t know what cabinet meetings were like.
It’s also why it was always Chrystia Freeland speaking ‚as a woman‘ about Sajjan’s repeated failures while he and Trudeau ran off and hid.
First, we have a legal system. There is no justice done.
The „system“ is a fucking mess and needs a total overhaul.
The Federal government should build 6 prisons so that offenders can be sent to prison instead of being held in holding centers due to overcrowding. Those new prisons would allow offenders to actually be placed in jail instead of relentless PTAs.
