Chiba, ein beliebtes Sonnenblumenfeld in Narashino City, bekannt für seine malerischen Aussichten und von ausländischen Touristen, verschwand plötzlich. Der Sonnenblumenkorridor wurde ab dem 18. Juli von einer örtlichen Farm als freie Attraktion erstellt. Als er am 30. Juli besucht wurde, fanden die Journalisten die Sonnenblumen vollständig zusammengeschnitten, ohne dass der einst beliebte Ort eine Spur.
Die Schließung war auf ein störendes Verhalten von Touristen zurückzuführen. Die Nachbarbewohner meldeten am frühen Morgen laute Geräusche und blockierten die Einfahrten aufgrund illegaler Parkplätze. Der Ort erlangte in den sozialen Medien unerwartete Aufmerksamkeit, wobei er mehr Besucher als erwartet anzogen, was zu schwerwiegenden Störungen führte.
Schilder im mittlerweile kargen Feld zeigten die Schließung am 27. Juli. Trotz der Schließung sind die nicht bewussten Touristen weiterhin besucht. Die Anwohner äußerten Enttäuschungen, in der Hoffnung, die Sonnenblumen zu sehen, aber nur leere Felder zu finden.
Social -Media -Nutzer teilten ihre Traurigkeit über den Verlust des schönen Ortes mit, wobei einige nicht die Chance hatten, sie zu besuchen, bevor er endete. Die für den Sonnenblumenkorridor verantwortliche Farm drückte das Bedauern über die Situation aus und erkannte die Macht und die schnelle Ausbreitung von Informationen in den sozialen Medien und ihre Unfähigkeit an, solche Konsequenzen vorauszusehen.

I have some doubt that parking issues were caused by *foreign* tourists, unless it was involving tour busses. How many foreign tourists drive in the Kanto area?
Wasn’t apparent in the article, but it seems farmers cut all the sunflowers due to unauthorized parking and trespassing on their farmland by tourists.

Very misleading title. The fields were destroyed by their owners in a fit because they found tourists annoying. Tourists didn’t destroy the fields.

The farmer definitely didn’t think it would be this big nor has he the infrastructure to handle the traffic.
If you look on instagram it’s full of japanese influencer posting about it, telling people it’s better to go very early in the morning, some shots you can definitely see it’s right after dawm. I know the media are surfing of foreigner bashing but this is getting boring. Where the Fuck would all the tourists get so many cars??

I’m calling bullshit on this one, as I find it incredibly hard to believe that enough foreigners travelled to Chiba, by car, to clog up roads and driveways.
It’s also very common for the Japanese flock in huge numbers to any event, restaurant, or location that gains a little attention. Especially during the school holidays.
Probably locals just as much as foreigners. Who the fuck buys a plane ticket just to see a bunch of sunflowers in a field when you can see the same thing in your own country?
But that said fuck the instagram culture that causes people to swarm like locusts for a picture, just for online clout.
