I oppose this even if it comes with good intentions. The best bulwark against separatism is to keep this topic off a referendum altogether. Functionally, a „No“ on this referendum would have the same result as a „Yes“ on a separation question. Which is why Alberta separatists don’t seem too outraged by this.

Honestly the separatism movement has lost so much steam in recent months that I doubt they would be able to get their question on the ballot, even under Danielle’s lowered threshold. Don’t give them what they want in a roundabout way.
