2 “ethnically Russian” breakaway regions, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, “totally not backed and supplied by Russia!” followed later by the Russians going mask off and invading.
Exactly like Donetsk and Donbas.
Also one of the key guys in Donetsk formerly in charge of their armed forces, Igor Girkin, was the Russians’ FSB guy in the “ethnically Russian” breakaway region Transnistria in Moldova.
But yeah, there’s totally no reason countries bordering Russia want to join the defensive Alliance against Russia! /s
