With the politization of the American judiciary, honestly the way this ruling will go down is a total crapshoot. I believe the courts are making decisions in part to placate the Trump administration, with the hope that he doesn’t just flat out start ignoring the courts.

Anybody still approaching this disaster with the expectation that the rule of law will win out or that the legal/political system in America will correct itself doesn’t understand what’s occurring.
The administration has demonstrated multiple times that adverse legal judgements will just be ignored. They pretended not to hear the Supreme Court when it ordered them to seek and facilitate Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s return back in April.

I wouldn’t count on this as a life line. It will go all the way to the Supreme Court. Even though Conservative judges on the Supreme Court are supposedly strict constitutionalists and Trump is guilty of major constitutional over reach they will still side with Trump. He has the Supreme Court in his back pocket.
