We could always just try prohibition? Sure give it a go
As an alcoholic in recovery. Mup off licence times any and all of it doesnt work and is just lip service to fixing the problem. Treatment centers should be free. Mental health services should be available because there are not. Took me over 7 months to get hse councilling for addiction. I was an apprentice and lost my home over it so had no money for any of it. AA saved me because I saved myself. But some people don’t have that privilege
Who is doing all this substance use. We’re told the kids are only interested in the gym and vegan dinner parties. The middle-aged are financially overwhelmed by the cost of living and the care responsibilities of the sandwich generation. Pubs are closing due to a lack of patrons adversely affected by social change and the mores of the new Irish.
Genuine question, who’s left to get smashed everyday.
