Carney flipped his position on Palestine, promising statehood subject to a number of poison pill conditions that will never occur, in order to create an out that the reason for no deal with the US is not due to Carney’s failed negotiations but simply US retaliation. This will push us to September when the conditions are clearly rejected by all stakeholders and Carney tells us negotiations are re-resumed. It is shameful to play with this issue like this, but I guess that’s politics for this government.
