Wonder if there’s Vegas odds on Hamas‘ and the Palestinians in general accepting this reality.

    2. Wow it only took 2 years for them to come to the conclusion „October 7th was bad“.

Why is this happening now and not on Oct. 8, 2023? Because Israel is winning the war and Iran has been severely weakened. The countries of the region are no longer afraid of Iran retaliating against them for condemning Hamas or Oct. 7. Everyone can now see how weak Iran is and they feel they have more freedom to make moves that will piss off Iran. All of this is happening thanks to the hard work of the IDF in defeating Iran and its proxies.

    4. Once again according to article they call on Israel to end the war – fair, agree to Palestinian state – what without preconditions?, and right of return – full and total non starter. Oh and almost missed the East Jerusalem as capital of Palestinian state – you mean the part of town where Jewish only holy site, Wailing wall sits not to mention old Jewish quarter? So that Jews can once again be blocked from visiting it as in “good olden days” when Jordan controlled the site? Good luck with that

„for the first time established eight high-level working groups to examine and make proposals on wide-ranging topics related to a two-state solution.“

Great, that’s what we need. More studies and working groups. This will be the thing that finally resolves this conflict. Wohooooo…

Why is it that the Western world is descending into madness (attacking anyone with a yarmulke, kicking Hebrew-speakers off planes) and the Middle East is finally being reasonable?

You know what? I didn’t expect this but I glad we’re on the same page.

    8. Seems complimentary to the pressure put on Israel by Western states in the last days. Maybe a concerted effort to finally end the war?

Really historic, in line with what European states are saying but from a different angle, clear Arab-European cooperation in laying down a long-term vision combined with sticks and carrots to stop this war, stop Hamas, and work on actual peace.

“Right of return” is a poison pill this thing is DOA.

“Let us run the clock back on this war that we started and lost 80 years ago”. Until they agree to dissolve UNRWA and revoke the hereditary refugee status of 3rd and 4th generation Palestinians living in the region and integrate them into their own countries, this conflict will never actually end.

    11. Still trying to imagine firing 20,000 rockets from civilian territory into civilian territory, missing your target entirely while breaking the Geneva Convention 100x over,… And then expecting to gain land? That’s your plan to gain land?

I couldn’t find anything in that declaration that specifically states that Israel has the right to exist. Only vague assurances of status quo sovereignty, and look how well that worked out for Ukraine after the Budapest Memorandum.

    13. This will never be agreed to by Israel. Palestinians have to give up the fake “right of return”. Either you get your own country or you don’t, but you do not get to dictate access to a foreign nation’s territory. Israel decides who enters its territory not Palestine activists or French talking heads.

At least it’s something, hopefully a new optic, a new way to get some peace

    15. They are probably shitting their pants now when Knesset has passed a resolution supporting the annexation of the West Bank. The Arab world doesn’t want to risk having Palestinian refugees on the loose, which will most likely happen if an annexation were to happen.

Hopefully this will bring about a true long lasting peace for all in the region.

    17. It really shouldn’t be this difficult for people to condemn the massacre of innocent people whether by terror, bombing, or starvation.

Fundamentally, I chose to believe most people are good. Unfortunately, ‘realpolitik’ and power seem to make monsters out of us all.

The entire Arab League finally decided they don’t want 2 million Palestinian refugees.
