I’m happy that they publicly highlighted how dangerous it is when politicians starts complaining about the justice system. We have seen how disastrous it is in the United States and it is critical that politicians stays at arm’s length of the justice system. Conservatives SHOULD KNOW BETTER!

Contrary to what’s insinuated in the linked article, it does not focus specifically on Poilievre, but instead targets comments made by „politicians, media and members of the public“. In particular, the gender comments it addresses were comments not made by Poilievre.
While I’m somewhat sympathetic to the complaint about politicians commenting on ongoing prosecutions, the stance taken by the OCAA against the media and members of the public is deeply inappropriate in my view.
There is an attitude within the legal profession that non-politician members of the public should never comment on how the justice system operates. Groups like the CBA are not strangers to attacking even musical artists based on their comments about the justice system (see e.g., [Canadian Bar Association denounces rapper Classified’s criticism of rape sentence | CBC News](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/canadian-bar-association-classified-christopher-butt-1.3801669)). It’s a bizarre, parochial, and deeply undemocratic attitude.

The idea that the legal profession, any part of it or in aggregate is above criticism is completely antithetical to what a democracy is or what it stands for. Last I checked, crown prosecutors are human and humans are subject to bias and are capable of errors. The notion that they are unimpeachable is frankly more dangerous than anything Pierre Poilievre or the convoy leaders have ever said or done.
