tldr; Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing app, now allows Filipino users to top up their GrabPay wallets with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), and USD Coin (USDC). This feature, launched in collaboration with PDAX and Triple-A, aims to promote crypto adoption in Asia. Users can convert crypto into pesos for various services. Following its success in Singapore, Grab’s move aligns with its broader Web3 goals, integrating blockchain services and solidifying its position as a super app in the region.

I think this is not as bullish as people think. Yes, it’s great for Circle and Tether. But let’s be real, people hold BTC/ETH in hope for gains. It (BTC/ETH) won’t be used.

This is cool! I own some Grab stock so I can expand at least a tiny bit to this. As of more recently they have evolved from a ride-hailing and delivery app to include banking services. They are pretty big in the region and expanding well.

I think there are nice banking implications here. Also who knows, but I find it exciting.

It would be nice if they mentioned what chains were supported for stablecoins. Aligning crypto and USD is good
