Sadly, nothing uncommon here, migrant or not. See Hugh Edwards. He didn’t get let off because he’s famous, he got let off because it’s incredibly, incredibly uncommon to go to prison for possession of child abuse material unless it’s a repeat offence.
So who is it that’s on the side of the nonces, opponents of the OSA, or the people who write our sentencing guidelines.
Every time I see a paedo get let off with a light sentence, I get the impression that the judge has had a copy of the evidence made for personal use.
I also think that these judges also don’t want to establish stricter sentences for paedo crimes because they are worried they’ll get caught someday and can argue against stricter sentences as they’re not the norm.
Sorry if that’s a bit tinfoil hatty.
