Carney has been saying he would move away from the U.S. since he started the leadership campaign… is Harper saying he used a time machine?

Harper’s still batting for Pierre by doing his damage control I see .Hes being cautious but it was a very calculated statement.

Person who has extremely unique job reaches out to one of four predecessors still breathing for advice.
Facetiousness aside, this is par for the course.

By negotiating most of CETA, the China FIAP, and the CFTA (the mechanism through which most internal free trade reforms have occurred), Harper has done some of the most on this front of diversifying from the US.

Oh no, the guy who advised Trudeau was just advised by Stephen Harper. How will the talking heads handle the cognitive dissonance? Who will advise who next?

Trump was asking for a HUGE bribe to get a trade deal. Carney stalled for time and finally turned him down a few days ago. So, yeah good advice Harper. Now tell the rest of the Conservatives.

On the economic side of things Carney has more in common with Harper than he does with Trudeau. I’m not surprised he’s using Harper as an advisor and I’m also not surprised Harper is helping him.

It’s nice to see people working together for the greater good as opposed to dying on the hill of ideology. I approve
