      Has the overton window moved so far that even the french are becoming prudes?

      Edit: Seems people have pointed out this area has always had such standards due to rich uppity people. Nipples are only for the cinema and the beaches. On beaches nipples may be mandatory (not sure need to go read the article)

      My wife is from this town and we visit every couple summers. A topless woman in her 70s at the beach is the only nudity I had the misfortune to see.

      I’d imagine that in practice these fines are mostly used by police when someone is being an asshole in a way that maybe doesn’t qualify as a crime but they want to give them some kind of penalty. It seems like in most of the videos I see of tourists being a problem in warm destinations they’re usually often wearing very little in the way of clothes, I gotta wonder if they’ll bother to enforce the law much if you’re not causing a problem.

      My sister lives on an island in the Caribbean, where the locals are fairly conservative in their views. They don’t hesitate to call people out (often women in thong bikinis) who walk around in town scantily dressed.
