Yeah, it’s a mistake in the translation from English to German.
When you’re translating something like this, you have a styleguide and glossary to adhere to. In this case, the Peppa Pig series itself also serves as the reference. Madame Gazelle, obviously supposed to be French, is only ever referred to as „Madame Gazelle“, both in English and in the corresponding German dub.
I’m new to this Peppa Pig game since my son has been interested in it for about three weeks. But I’ve learned that Madame Gazelle is French — in the audio, she speaks with a strong French accent. So maybe that’s why.
