You call him a liar on his face and ask him – „So you are going to lie on national TV on something that can easily be fact checked.“ Ask him to wait and open a search engine and fact check him on live TV. That is the only way to get them to stop lying on TV. This wishy washy laughing it off is not going to work anymore.
