      Junk article:

“The Change.org campaign proposes renaming the airport to Ozzy Osbourne International Airport in tribute to the Black Sabbath front man’s impact on music and culture, and his deep ties to his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama.”

He didn’t get a CBE, an MBE or a knighthood from the British establishment, so Brum should say ‚fuck you‘ to the powers that be and give him an airport. It’s only fair. The only other person who is associated with Birmingham who competes in fame and global influence is Tolkien.

I quite like the idea. I liked Ozzy a lot and he seemed to be very fond of his home city from what I’ve read of him. It would be a nice tribute.

Ozzy had some serious demons. I will admit he is a legend but he is firmly in the „bad guy who had talent“ camp. Not someone you name an airport after.

Killing you cats on drugs is bad.

    5. Don’t know why Ozzy would want to be associated with an airport? Hardly seems the message of his music.

John Lennon has liverpool airport yes, but he sung a lot about connecting the world at least, makes sense. Ozzy sung a lot about humanity’s battles with evil, authority, drugs, war, death, and the occult. I don’t know how you get a jet2 holiday out of that lol.

It says he’s from Birmingham, Alabama! Poor journalism again from the Americans

Wouldn’t it make more sense to change the name of a ‚Crazy Train‘ station

Just simplify it and rebrand as „Flying High Again International Airport“

Should be renamed Geezer Butler. Dude wrote all the best songs for Black Sabbath – he doesn’t get enough credit.

I never thought about it that much, but Birmingham is the UK’s version of Alabama, huh?
