      This is one of those cases where actions have consequences. Even if they didn’t commit the crimes they were accused of, they still took part in something many people consider distasteful and the league can decide if they want the bad press associated with it.

    2. That’s not too surprising. I imagine, as in the Chicago case, they’ll need to apply to the league for reinstatement first. The league won’t make the first step.

    4. Lets be real here, they weren’t going to immediately reinstate them after the case finished.

      I assume they want to let other items hit the news cycle and in the 2nd or 3rd week of August they’ll be reinstated.

      The rubbing of salt in the wound / throwing gasoline on the fire / insult to injury / twist the knife / whatever phrase you want to make would just be bad PR at this point.
