Doesn’t draw as much fire as a Palestinian food and aid tent.

    2. President Macron was seen rubbing his eyes saying, „I recognize that historically complicated landmass. That’s Palestine!“

    3. if he planned to do it after his demands were met, there would be no problem I don’t think, the problem is those demands will never be met, and he’s gonna recognize a palenstinian state regardless of that in september at the un.

Palestine is currently split between the West Bank and Gaza with Hamas being the legitimate elected government. Is France proposing to give West Bank to Hamas? Rather than recognize Palestine we should perhaps consider recognizing the West Bank provided they avoid electing in Hamas.

The US has too much hard power compared to the Europeans. Just support from the US alone Israel can do what ever it wants. The global system is such imbalanced that the US can decide what happens.

Is any nation/leader actually going to try and implement a plan for the hypothetically two states to co-exist? Any guarantee that the current stable state that actually exists (Israel) will not face another Oct 7th? Will they prop up a leader from the region to lead the state that will occupy Gaza (Palestine) who will prompt peaceful existence?

As far as I can tell, only Israel has legitimately tried a two-state solution, and it failed because the people of Gaza elected Hamas to lead them.

Meh. Performative. Changes nothing. The facts on the ground would suggest otherwise. Unfortunately.

Screw Israel. It’s good that someone is standing up for the little guy (Palestine). They keep taking land that is not theirs and murdering defenseless civilians.

    9. France managing to lose wars it’s not even involved in by emboldening Hamas to not agree to a ceasefire

      >“A Palestinian state in these conditions would be a launch pad to annihilate Israel — not to live in peace beside it.“

The Israeli state, under its current conditions, is a launch pad to annihilate Palestinians — not to live in peace beside them

    11. Rewarding Hamas in the middle of negotiations for the end of the conflict is not the way to go. France should work to end this, get the hostages back, get Hamas out, and start rebuilding Gaza for a (hopefully) more peaceful population. Or just stay completely out of it, if it’s not trusted by either side.
