Düsseldorf is closer but Frankfurt is good connected via the high speed track and the ICE Services. It is about an hour I think.
But trains on that route tend to be a bit more expensive
Go to Düsseldorf, it’s a 40 minute train ride from Düsseldorf to Cologne
