This, and the Chinese adaption of the T-54, are in fact their most modern mbts :O

What do they think how this will go

They are so cooked, it’s not even funny. If a western IFV is able to defeat a T-80 in combat, a T-55 stands no chance whatsover against anything made in the last 50 years.

This isn’t even an M-55S kinda scenario where the T-55 has been modernised to high hell and equiped with every piece of bling to make it an actually good vehicle. They’re just rocking it with bare T-55 tanks

We’re watching dead men, should they get into combat.

Absolutely don’t envy these guys. These are t-55? Yah if they get caught or spotted it’s over

    4. This guy probably is already dead or would be dead the next few days. Cambodia military isn’t even in the same class as Thai. It’s like Ireland decided to attack UK or Belgium to attack Germany. Not sure what their government even tried to achieve.

you can definitely hear how nervous these guys are. and who wouldn’t be in this steel coffin.

It’s actually not too bad for the Cambodians despite what the (uninformed) media portrays ie. Thailand has overwhelming overmatch in terms of kit etc.

The actual fighting elements of the Armed Forces for both countries are quite small (vs the overall bloated size of both militaries) and rank inflation is a huge problem for both. There are more generals than colonels (anecdotally) but rank inflation and # of generals vis a vis enlisted is a huge issue.

What this means in practice is that unless a full blown conflict erupts, you’ll have the elite formations (Thai Special Forces, Cambodian PM’s security forces) sitting back and half trained grunts flinging ordnance at each other across the border in a low tech knockoff of May’s India-Pakistan clashes. Thailand’s Air Force doesn’t have the infrastructure for proper precision targeting and strikes and the Cambodians are just flinging rockets and shells indiscriminately.

    7. I would not want to be in a T-54/55 facing up against the T-84 Oplot’s and modernized M60’s that Thailand has.

Not to mention Thailand has F-16’s and Gripen’s, when Cambodia’s „airforce“ consists of several passanger planes, and a handful of Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicoptors.

I’m definitely no expert, but from what I can gather, Cambodia is seriously outmatched in terms of equipment at least.
