Going to need to break that down into particulars. I’m all for it but there needs to be some clear border, governing entity etc..

    2. Where is this Palestinian state and who is in control of it? Those seem like very basic questions that should be answered prior to the statehood that is being recognized.

Will France count the hostages as part of the Palestinian population?

    4. Who is Palestine? Both Palestinian governments have active disputes with Israel. Also, what happens in France’s eyes to the refugee status of the Palestinians?

    5. As someone from Poland I’m surprised that so many countries haven’t recognized Palestine. I never understood the logic behind it.

Well, that is terrible news for hopefuls of. Palestinian state. Macron saying something is a harbinger of it absolutely not happening.

Palestinians don’t even recognize a single state. What are they recognizing? Gaza and west bank are two separate entities at this point.

1000 years later, these people will still be fighting.

All these deaths and destruction, is it really worth all the suffering?

All for imaginary god who is so fking useless that he can’t fight his own battle and makes his subjects fight for him.

    9. You’d be naive to think whatever government they form won’t have any Hamas involvement.

    10. Does that mean that France will be in favor of treating this Palestinian state the exact same way you’d treat any other sovereign state when it sends over 1000 armed militants into another sovereign state to indiscriminately burn, loot, mutilate, murder, and rape?

    11. Hamas and every terrorist organization just received a Huge confirmation that if you murder people at a party and take about 200 hostages and commit horrible crimes on camera you will be rewarded in the end

    12. So the state of Palestine committed an act of war on October 7th and Israel has Casus Belli to invade and attack? Perfect, this settles the issue that Israel’s war is rightful!

Easy to say about something you think will never happen. „I recognize the nation of Petoria,“ is just as meaningful of a statement. The current conflict has guaranteed this will never occur, at least in the land that currently houses the Palestinian population. It’s fucked up, but that’s just the state of things. Israel lost interest in participating in that game on Oct 7.

Two conditions for peace should be Hamas out and Likud out. It’s the extremists that are ruining the chances for peace. The Oslo accords were a good deal but then extremists on both sides killed the leaders on both sides that agreed to it.

What an odd time to pull the trigger on this. Like, good for them, but Jesus, you didnt want to go there 9 months ago?

Do it, that way oct 7th was a full declaration of war between 2 countries and they cant bitch anymore about muh opreshun refugees

Macron is starting to act like many Arab and Muslim leaders. Distracting from all the things that go wrong by doing some big populist virtue signaling moves that do not change anything.

Also, it is absolutely the wrong time to do such a thing, which is rewarding those that started a war against Israel by massacring young people at a music festival and kibbutz families while they had breakfast.

    18. Good. Once Hamas surrenders we can look at building a nation. Funny though that this is a two state solution and will not fly with the majority of Palestinians (in power)

    19. One day France will be ready to join the Abraham accords but that day is very far in the future

    20. They literally cannot even feed their own people so I do not get why so many calls for them to actually become a state or a nation.

I think starting with being able to at least feed your people should be a first concern before you want to form into a recognized form of government. Committing terrorist attacks on your neighbors and then expecting them to supply you with food aid because you do not even take care of your own citizens is a wild thing to give statehood for.

Extremely performative, but he is trying to get the news off of the fact that his courts ruled it wasn’t defamatory to call his wife a man. That’s pretty brutal information no matter what side of the political aisle.
