Trump interfering in business operation and he’s the one who managed to bankrupt his businesses more than once. Jerk.

So should global companies stop selling products outside the U.S. too? Or is the global part only for profits

    3. Trump hates America and is doing everything he can to gut the country. In this case that tech talent will go to Chinese competitors and help China win the new cold war.

Were they wearing a suit? Did they thank Trump for his great advice as a good gesture to their new emperor!

    5. It’s actually funny to see these things happening in real time. Because for a long time I had this thought that, US being the biggest global power actually started being dick, what happens then?

Bigger countries will survive the bullying, albeit via some losses, but what about other smaller ones? Welp, got my answer I guess. Buddy is trying hard to do anything now to cover-up his Epstein issues.

And judging by the prevalent ‚recency bias‘, Republicans are on their way to lose mid terms.

    6. Also in the article :“ We are getting rid of woke,” Trump said during the event, adding that AI models should be accurate and not influenced by ideology. The new rules will also apply to AI systems used by government agencies, meaning they must not be biased or politically driven.“

The wot now? Not politically driven ..says Trump? LMFAO!!

If this is accurate, it could change global tech hiring dynamics overnight.

Sounds a lot like the “managed economies” of communist countries.

      What is this man doing?

He is the president of a country, not the CEO of every company ever existing.

You can’t dictate what they can and can not do. They are gonna do what they need to thrive and provide better services.

Indians and Pakistanis are talented people and tech savy. Of Course they are gonna hire them.

AI is going to destroy this field 10 years from now and no country will be spared.

You think you’ll need a team to deploy an enterprise network on the back end in 10 years? The only people working will be techs doing the physical installs and a few overseers for commissioning.

Tech support by phone will drop 50% at least in the next 10 years.

    11. Microsoft fired lots of people. I was checking internally and surprise… we have LOTS of jobs opening for India. This is a disgrace and I agree that Trump should jump in and do something about it. Europe should also wake up

There is no way A.I. won’t replace call center jobs in the next 12 to 24 months. They can literally save millions of dollars overnight when the tech is finally tuned and perfect. As long as I get the expected answer, when I call in, I will have no problems. As soon as A.I. gate-keeps me, runs me in circles, and I don’t get the help where I know the expected outcome, I will stop doing business with that company, instantly.

I am honestly sick and tired of talking to non-native English speakers. it’s a real hassle for me sometimes.

    13. Here’s the biggest problem the US doesn’t produce enough educated people to fill all these jobs. Because we have gutted education at every level.

    14. Americans will not work for less than minimum wage and companies will not pay top salaries, plain and simple, why doesn’t he understand this easy concept

    15. Powerful_Dentist_328 on

I wonder how Google’s and Microsoft’s CEOs feel about that. 🙄

    16. DuncanConnell on

As much as I hate agreeing with Tangerine Palpatine, focusing on hiring within the US *should* be the priority for US companies rather than offshoring and squeezing the lowest price for shareholders.

That said, rampant hypocrisy with fascist overtones by the „party of small government“ is still rampant hypocrisy with fascist overtones.

    17. Reading these comments wondering why redditors can’t acknowledge that someone they hate can do good things some times

    18. As an Indian in tech, I really don’t care.

If it’s not USA, it’s gonna be a different country where the top minds will go to.

If this makes more of our best and brightest to stay back in India, it’s an ever better outcome for the country.

    19. FilthyUsedThrowaway on

Remember when republicans claimed that telling corporations what to do was communism?

    20. wait till he realises that USA cant pay the same wage to American employees the way they did to Indian workers .

    21. He’s going to put a Pikachu surprise face once he realizes there are (by far) not enough americans with tech degrees.

    22. He needs to revisit his tax bill then, his MAGA rhetoric doesn’t match with his tax incentives to offshore.

    23. RedditorsGetChills on

I work in tech, worked for one of the companies in the headline, and they do blatantly state hiring abroad is cheaper, as well as replace laid of staff with foreign workers. It’s absolutely a problem, BUT, he’s just focusing on India, when talent comes from more countries than just India.

    24. PeppermintEvilButler on

I guess they didn’t bribe trump enough since he’s getting 9 figures from paramount etc

    25. Carlos_Tellier on

This is already the case, good luck finding a US job without being a tax resident

    26. Since writing code with AI is very much on the rise right now, people are already talking about removing/reducing offshore coders because you can now (or soon) write a large part of the easiest code yourself. Already seeing it happen where I work (Denmark)

    27. „Meritocracy“
      ???
      „That means America, right?“
Uh no. Nothing of the sort…
      „Amurrrriahhhh“

    28. Shot-Werewolf-5886 on

If that was really the case he would cancel the H1B1 visa program to stop them from hiring indentured servants for half the price of US citizens. Until then it’s just empty words and a distraction from Epstein.
