There is no way A.I. won’t replace call center jobs in the next 12 to 24 months. They can literally save millions of dollars overnight when the tech is finally tuned and perfect. As long as I get the expected answer, when I call in, I will have no problems. As soon as A.I. gate-keeps me, runs me in circles, and I don’t get the help where I know the expected outcome, I will stop doing business with that company, instantly.
I am honestly sick and tired of talking to non-native English speakers. it’s a real hassle for me sometimes.
Here’s the biggest problem the US doesn’t produce enough educated people to fill all these jobs. Because we have gutted education at every level.
Americans will not work for less than minimum wage and companies will not pay top salaries, plain and simple, why doesn’t he understand this easy concept

As an Indian in tech, I really don’t care.
If it’s not USA, it’s gonna be a different country where the top minds will go to.

I work in tech, worked for one of the companies in the headline, and they do blatantly state hiring abroad is cheaper, as well as replace laid of staff with foreign workers. It’s absolutely a problem, BUT, he’s just focusing on India, when talent comes from more countries than just India.

Since writing code with AI is very much on the rise right now, people are already talking about removing/reducing offshore coders because you can now (or soon) write a large part of the easiest code yourself. Already seeing it happen where I work (Denmark)
