„Andy Laperriere, head of U.S. policy research at Piper Sandler, said Japanese officials are “describing it differently” when it comes to the investment plan. Japan’s leaders, he said, see the $550 billion figure as a cap and inclusive of government loan guarantees.“

“Especially given that the Japanese believe they are being bullied into this commitment, they will almost certainly slow walk whatever investments they don’t think are in their own economic self-interest,” Laperriere wrote to clients in a Wednesday note.

Of course this is published. For the normal people it would hint at the audacity of Donut Trip to alter what was worked upon by a team of professionals. For some however this cements/reaffirms the image of Donut as their messiah and prophet who cares for their interests with a human face and a human hand. They do not see the light in the professionals, and would only place trust into what they regard one among them. The reason? I dont know, im not even US American.

    4. Remember all of the investments and factories being built during his last term? The only ones that panned out. Were the ones already projected. Most companies and nations will just wait his term out. And move on.

Canadas in the $300 range, and Japans in the $25 area, yet Orange says it’s the biggest deal ever.

No surprise about the sharpie .

At my job we aren’t even allowed to have pencils or paper because of the risk of bs like this.

    7. Looks like something id hold up while giving a presentation in first year econ class. Size 300 font so his geriatric ass can still read it, and JAPAN INVEST AMERICA written at the top, lmao.

Which means it’s not a real agreement. It’s just distraction and deception. Hold him accountable for his destruction of American democracy. That’s the real story.

Safe bet is Trump was lying again and exaggerating the numbers because 500 sounds way better than 400 billion and if you are going to go that far, why not make it 550 billion so you can say over half a trillion dollars. To that end, anyone think, the Japanese made a commitment to let the US have 90% of the profits? The Japanese are honorable and savvy deal makers. Zero chance that is true either.

“Japan will pay Reciprocal Tariffs to the United States of 15%,” Trump wrote. (Say what?)

Your grandparents and great grandparents fought and died in wars to do what.. to enable this?

You people have fucked your country up so badly, it is absolutely shameful that you allow this fucksmear to continue. The man literally belongs in prison as a convicted felon for raping. Not to mention the child sex trafficking and child rapes.

Your entire nation and its people is so disgraceful to allow this. It should not have gotten this far.

Can’t believe that we now live in a time where world leaders can just make shit up, there is no accountability and no one believes them. Trump’s over here babbling whatever bullshit he wants, and other countries have figured they can just say whatever he wants to hear and then never deliver on it, and he’ll never know, or care, or will forget. His threats are empty, he always chickens out. Can’t wait for the first country to declare they’re going to invest a trillion dollars and never do anything.

Edited Over to can’t believe. Not sure what happened there.

Don’t let this distract you from the Epstein client list that Trump is on

    15. Even when making a deal supposedly

He then goes and alters the deal before announcing it …and then when announced it….adds another 50 billion…. to the additional 100 billion he already made up

      Unbelievable

    16. copperblood on

You know, I’m starting to think this Trump guy gives bullshit a bad name 😂

    17. The sad part about these deals is spelled out quite clearly……. as a Canadian this is so infuriating, especially living in a city on the border who is experiencing the brunt of the tariff BS.

The US wants to make a deal with whatever country – yet they ask for investment, which they keep 90% of profits from, but still change the country a 15% (Japan) tariff anyway? What kind of deal is that?????
