The only US car dealer I saw was Cadillac dealer at Kasai. Whether consumers buy them or not will be seen.

Does this means models already sold in both countries being assembled in the US being shipped here for sale or something else?

There is a niche market for foreign cars and within that niche is a significantly smaller niche of folks who own a Ford explorerer, escalade, navigator or sometimes a sequoia or Tundra, beyond those couple dozen people I really am doubtful there is an untapped market.

Looking forward to giant paperweights no one will buy outside of people in Hokkaido I guess.

If they build cars suited to the width of Japanese roads, offer reliability close to Toyota, and don’t price them too high, they might have a chance.

The imagery of a Japanese family trying to drive up a winding mountain road in a Ford 150 is just too funny. Hard to imagine a less desirable product for consumers here

It’s an interesting idea. Parked around my neighborhood just looking at Toyota and I see, a few of the new Landcruisers, 2 Hilux, a Lexus LX700h and GX550, RAV4s, and a lot of harrier’s.

There’s a market for larger vehicles, not a huge one, but enough for this to not be a terrible idea.

Sure! Send me that American assembled Lexus 3 row EV that won’t be sold in Japan, but at least I can then get it /jk

Toyotas made in the US are garbage compared to the ones made in Japan.

Same for Hyundai. The Korean factory produces cars that are higher quality than US factories.

    10. There is a need for things like bicycles and motorcycles, and Japanese automobile companies are responding to that need by developing cars that are accepted by every generation. Does anything like that exist among American cars?

Why is it that, even though Japanese people properly use American internet services, Americans try to obtain everything? Do Americans really have to have everything? Do we have to drive American cars and use only American services?
