    1. > “Going back to responsibility and resourcefulness and sustainability, it’s just like, what am I doing? I could feed a family with the amount I’m eating,” Cumberbatch said, noting he would eat five meals a day while getting into Doctor Strange shape in addition to snacks like boiled eggs, almonds and cheese in between meals.

      > “It’s a grossly wasteful industry,” he continued. “Think about set builds that aren’t recycled, think about transport, think about food, think about housing, but also light and energy. The amount of wattage you need to create daylight and consistent light in a studio environment. It’s a lot of energy.”

Jason Alexander spoke about something similar recently when he addressed the salaries the Seinfeld class eventually negotiated. Not verbatim, but he basically said it set a precedent for actor salaries that ended up totally inflating the money spent, on actors, per episode across the board.

He acknowledged the point of it was to adequately compensate the brand value actors can bring to a product, but said there’s a limit to what’s reasonable and it kinda broke the industry a little by sending salaries way out of whack.

RDJ being lured back to the franchise by the (rumoured) GDP of a small country doesn’t help things. His kids and farm and charities are set for life and that’s great but there’s still no way for a human to spend all that in their lifetime. I could feed and house thousands.

I actually thought it was kinda cool and refreshing that the Superman budget was relatively lean with a pretty reasonable 2M for Nicholas Hoult and Corsenswet and Brosnahan getting $700k. Fiege also said in his recent interviews that post-Secret Wars they are getting smaller with a focus on quality over quantity.

Ohhh boo hoo the poor multi millionaire celebrity is lamenting the cost of wasted food. How Noble and Virtuous! Instead of wasting his time doing self indulgent puff interviews why not do something useful, why not donate a few hundred thousand to a national food bank if he’s so concerned and guilt ridden about food turnover? They always love to talk themselves up about how much of a humanitarian they are, but never actually do anything when they happen to be in the rare position of actually having the resources to affect some change. People like that disgust me

10% of his after tax salary from one of these movies could provide the lifetime earnings for a median household it is so weird when these guys say stuff like this. If it was a tax deductible donation he could probably provide a lifetime of not just meals, but housing, utilities, daycare, transportation, the odd trip down the shore, and whatever else for TWO families at like 12%. I’d be willing to bet FIVE families could be provided for, for life, off 10% of his gross earnings from all marvel movies he’s in. Lots of waste indeed!

    5. I get that Hollywood is his point of reference, but there’s about a million things more wasteful going on in the world than a person having to eat a lot to get in shape

    6. That’s just what you need to go through to get the physique of a middle-aged, disabled surgeon I guess.

Dawg you ain’t gotta eat like that to be a magician, Criss Angel don’t look like he eats at all

    8. It’s well known and table stakes frankly to get in the best shape of your life, aesthetically at least, to play a Marvel superhero lead. You’re basically paid to eat and work out with a person trainer for months. Look how yoked even Paul Rudd got to play dorky Ant-Man.

Seems an odd demand by the studio given that Doctor Strange isn’t known as a particularly muscular or otherwise large character and his clothes are fairly baggy so you can’t really tell his body type anyway.

Why would he need to do that? I don’t remember any shirtless scenes with Doctor Strange

    11. Dude made millions of dollars but it’s the crafty that was wasteful. yup sounds like him.
