An American citizen from Oklahoma was among eight men, all family members, rounded up and killed in an execution-style attack during the sectarian violence that flared in Syria last week.Hosam Saraya, a 35-year-old Syrian-American, was identified by a friend and a US relative as one of eight men whose killing was captured on a video that circulated on social media over the weekend.

It was always absurd to imagine that Sunni supremacist jihadists would turn into secular technocrats just because they now run a national government. And it was equally insane to think Jolani would have the willpower to rein them in. Jolani has fought alongside these men for 14 years, and yet some people still think he’ll take significant action against them.
Not a good sign if the US wants better relations with Syria.
Trump forced Israel to stop defending the Druze, including these US citizens. Trump failed to protect Americans again.
