    1. Donald Trump’s administration may be having a “realisation” after six months of “naivety” as White House officials privately accused the [Israeli Prime Minister of acting like a “madman”](https://inews.co.uk/opinion/netanyahu-has-tested-trump-won-3768010?srsltid=AfmBOopbnaecXzsFgsDjwo_Y-uhSdP6Fn9TxDVh4UZgBcOfF3d_DUCMg&ico=in-line_link), experts believe.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s airstrikes on Syria appear to be exasperating the White House, leading [US diplomats to warn Israel against their military intervention](https://inews.co.uk/news/world/trump-iran-could-plunge-america-forever-war-3756481?ico=in-line_link) in the country.

Israeli jets last week bombed a convoy of Syrian Government tanks before Netanyahu appeared to escalate strikes further with attacks on the Ministry of Defence in Damascus, according to reports.

Israel says it is intervening in Syria on behalf of the Druze, who are seen as a loyal minority within Israel and serve in their military.

Syria has been [ravaged by sectarian fighting since the end of the civil war](https://inews.co.uk/news/world/trump-plans-to-lift-syria-sanctions-and-agrees-major-arms-deal-with-saudi-arabia-3692540?ico=in-line_link) in March, but fighting escalated further this week between the Druze and local Sunni Muslim Bedouin tribes in the southern province of Sweida.

A ceasefire took hold on Sunday as interior ministry security forces deployed on Sweida’s outskirts, which the Syrian Government said would allow for the release of hostages and detainees held by the sides.

While Trump has not publicly rebuked Netanyahu over the attacks – only stopping short of ever criticising the Israeli leader with his [expletive rant when a ceasefire with Iran fell through last month](https://inews.co.uk/opinion/trump-is-the-worlds-daddy-and-its-pathetic-3771978?ico=in-line_link) – US officials are understood to be furious at the Israeli intervention.

    2. Lmfao if you think he’s realised anything. Trump doesn’t have coherent beliefs or trains-of-thought – he blindly reacts aggressively to stimuli, lashes out at perceived slights and rewards flattery.

    3. Interesting read but it did feel like more of an opinion piece given the only citations are two professors. Trump could very well be onboard with everything and we wouldnt really know

Obama had the Peace Train rolling along with Iran moving fast in our direction.
