Habe Sachen für eine Veranstaltung mit Freunden aufgenommen und dachte, es wäre gut, mit Chips und Cola zu rocken. Was für ein Segen für mich, eine schöne 3 für 5 € Angebot. Ich habe meine Waren nicht darum gekümmert und scannen Sie sie im Selbstdienst Joch.
Ich gehe auf den Weg und schaue mir meine Quittung an und sehe, dass ich den vollen Preis zahle. Ich gehe zurück und frage, was die Geschichte ist und du würdest schwören, ich würde zwei Köpfe.
Eines der Mädchen bringt mich über und erklärt, wie ich 3 Chips oder 3 Cokes oder 3 Pralinen bekommen kann.
Jetzt bin ich nicht zu sehr über die 1,50 € oder was ich verloren habe, aber sie brachte den Manager mit und er begann dasselbe zu sagen, und es war überhaupt nicht verwirrend für Menschen und sehr klar. Ich versuchte zu sagen, dass das, was sie taten, irreführend ist und meinen Fall plädierte, aber sie ließen mich wie ein Troglodyte so fühlen, wie sie mich ansahen und einfach ihre Köpfe schüttelten.
Ich fragte den Manager, ob er ein paar Minuten hätte, und als er es tat, bot ich an, mit ihm an die Tür zu stehen und die Leute zu überwerten. Er sagte natürlich, er sei tatsächlich sehr beschäftigt und er müsse gehen.
Offensichtlich nicht das größte Problem für unsere Republik, aber was denkst du? Bin ich ein Numpty oder habe ich zu Recht, dass dies eindeutig fälschlicherweise beschriftet ist?

I would have thought it was any of the 3 for €5 myself.

The use of the word „any“ makes your initial interpretation the better one.
Says ‚Any 3 for 5‘ and the website confirms its mix and match (and I tested it).
To me, „Any 3 for €5 range“ strongly suggests that I can have *any 3 from the range for €5*…
Given that the sale stickers make don’t seem to differentiate between categories of snack, I would have thought this was mix & match.
SuperValu is not super and not value. They have some nice stuff but are a complete misnomer.

I was all set to tell you that you were being a numpty but you’re in the right here with the way they’ve worded it.
Is clearly says “and 3 for €5” – Tesco have a very similar offer in their stores and it works the way it should.
Tesco have something like this but it is actually any 3 for €5. It’s definitely misleading and they should probably have them separated more if it’s only 3 of each kind for €5.

Why does it say „Any“ if it is only the same one 3 times. Either the girl in the shop doesn’t know how it works or the guy writing the sign doesn’t know. Either way, no you are 100% correct. „Any X for Y“ means mix and match

You found it misleading, so obviously it is misleading to some people. If the manager would use their brain, they would make an exception for you and fix the shelves so it is more clear.
Other SuperValus run this same offer and it is mix & match so I think the issue is with this store
These kinds of offers have always been mix and match in the past.
SuperValu is a franchised supermarket, so it was probably that shop specifically that was going against the grain of what Musgraves intended.
Their leaflet says 3 for €5 Mix and Match on the app for this range. Therefore, this store is incorrect, and you need to contact their Head Office with your receipt to complain.

Back about 20 years ago I had the job of putting out those signs and labels.
I also would’ve assumed the yellow sign as being correct, so one of any three items 🫠
It’s probably all changed since but the system that gave out the specials would’ve created the SEL (the red/white tag) and they would’ve been product specific, and then it was the yellow signs that explained the offer in detail.
Back then the shop I was in would’ve given you the offer as the sign is ambiguous.
