Fuck, that’s pretty scary.
I love the guide clutching the umbrella though.
Did the stairway and the caves two years ago.
Weather was crap the day we showed up, did the stairway regardless but the caves were flooded, so closed.
Drove down to the caves the next morning and they were open again.
When we were right down in them, I asked the tour guide how high the water had been the previous day? „How tall are you?“, she asked, 6ft 2, „yeah, you’d have been underwater“.
suitable attire for a cave all right.
Did the weather surprise them or some water diversion system fail because bad rain has been forecast and I think a cave buisness would be very aware of flood risks.
I can’t deny, I’d be utterly terrified if I was caught in that. Would entirely trust the guide but the water wouldn’t have been the only thing brown.
There was an orange rainfall warning, and they still took tourists down there?
Woah that woman was absolutely wearing the wrong thing but fair play I guess for not falling.
I’m impressed at the ease they were able to walk up those steps. Might buy a pair of those for hiking
I was terrified down in those caves on a good day!
What sort of outfit is that to be wearing going down a cave?
