>“I love Stephen, I love his staff. I love that show. It’s incredibly sad. I am partly excited to see what they’re going to do for the next 10 months,” he reportedly said, per local news.
>“It’s terrible, terrible news for the world of comedy. Late-night shows mean a lot to me, not just because I work in them, but because even growing up in England, I would watch [David] Letterman’s show, which of course was Stephen’s show, and think about what a glamorous world that was. So, to have got to be on Letterman’s show and Stephen’s show has been always one of the most fun things, so it’s very, very, very sad news. I look forward to seeing what he’s going to do next because that man will not stop,” he added.

Man indeed I love both John & Stephen. Amazed at what is going on in America… it hasn’t even been a 100 years that I didn’t believe what was happening here in Europe

Not just for the „world of comedy“ this is terrible for the world. Voices of criticism being silenced by an overaggressive state and a power hungry tyrant is what the founders of the nation acted to guard against. We are watching the collapse of the US Constitution in real time.

I hope Colbert brings back the Colbert Report.

Is this the cancel culture I’ve been hearing so many rich entitled comedians complain about?

Not comedy! More like truth.

Colbert was such a beacon of truth when he did his little vax performance few years back. Ugh I love him …

If Colbert had been funny post-2015, I’d agree…

Stewart should quit too. They both go over to HBO with Oliver and do last week tonight 3 nights a week. It’s perfect because Stewart and Oliver only want to do a night a week anyways. Colbert can do as many as he pleases between Stewart’s Mondays and Oliver’s Sundays. This would be the best show on television. These three are on a level above the rest of the late night hosts, though I do enjoy the others as well.

To be fair when quipping about Trump, it’s more of a tragedy.

Remember when the right complained about cancel culture and how comedy would be dead because of it? It turned out it was all projection…

But really upsets me is the bull crap that Trump is suing there’s actually evidence out there that could prove Trump is lying this is a hit to everybody that watches him which I do on occasion that right there is just showing we have no Constitution anymore because we have the freedom of speech.
We the people should do something and know I’m not saying violence protests because when you do violent things you go down to their level and nobody should go down to that.
