So much backlash, we’re seeing just how beloved Colbert is to America, that in time I can see CBS reversing their decision.
Man I remember when they fucked around with Conan and he was real chill about it. Colbert is so nice but that man has wrath. It’s in his eyes, it’s in his demeanor, it’s in his jokes, he is wrathful. Don’t argue with someone who buys ink by the barrel comes to mind. I look forward to this.

Controlling news and entertainment is not what a free society does. Freedom of speech is not just for MAGA cult members.
It’s a financial decision insomuch as they don’t want to get sued again for things said about trump on their network. It’s pretty cowardly, and sets a bad precedent that trump can just threaten media outlets with lawsuits to silence any criticism of him.
It’s definitely not what you expect from a country where everyone constantly bangs on about freedom of speech.

Larry Ellison recently put his billions behind this merger as well – and he’s a major Trump supporter. I could be wrong but the timing of Larry Ellison coming on board the merger is likely that he was the one to pass word to Sherry Redstone it’d be good to axe Colbert. As a request from Trump of course.
Colbert should replace Bill Maher.
CBS lost me as a customer
I’m of the opinion that Colbert is going to run for Lindsay Grahams seat in 2026. Graham is probably the one of the most beatable senators in decades. He was a never trumpet who sold out and it’s all on record. Colbert still has until May 2026 before his show is done. That’s nearly a perfect timeline to announce a run as his finale. He would have to file in March but the primary wouldn’t be until June.
Colbert fans are not dumb.
Honestly, I have a hard time getting upset about this. I can watch Colbert wherever he lands; CBS stops making money off of my viewership. Seems like a win-win.

Absolutely no one is buying this, but…bad financial decisions doesn’t bode for a productive future for Paramount.
Considering their merger won’t go through unless they appease Trump, it is very much a financial decision.

Let’s start a boycott of CBS
It was a financial decision.
Their parent company wants to do a business deal that needs government approval.
So they threw a case and gave millions of dollars to Trump. And then when he extorted them a second time – because bullies are so well known for only beating you up the once – they were told to fire Colbert.
And now they just have to wait for the phone to ring with the next ransom demand.
Colbert supposedly had the highest ratings for his time slot. Wonder what they think is going to beat his numbers

This is all intentional. You do not have a company the size of CBS, who just finished dealing with a lawsuit with trump. Just now out of all times end Colbert’s show. They knew the optics and did it anyway.
So at this point all the flack, the boycotts, the canceled subscriptions is well deserved. If it wasn’t a financial issue before, it will be one now.

It was a poor financial decision, I canceled my Paramount+ account because of CVS getting on their knees and putting orange balls in their mouth in this decision makes me even prouder I did that. __My monthly subscription price that I was paying will be going to my local NPR__
They cancelled Blue Bloods which had twice as many viewers as The Late Show.
You can tell by trumps reaction to Stephen Colbert‘s firing that he had something to do with it. Why would he care otherwise?
You can look at CBS and it’s parent company as enemies in the camp. They’re not for the people they’re bowing to the Trump crime family
