‚Japanisch-First‘ Sanseeito Party geht in die Wahl, um Unbehagen über Ausländer zu nutzen | Japan

Japan is finally starting to see right-wing parties gaining popularity, just like in the West. It’s part of a global trend.

This is why good education is important.

This is hardly surprising, conservative governments have a tendency of struggling to make appropriate policy decisions when they are dealing with rising hardship for those on the lower strata of society. 

>Wages have failed to keep pace, and the sense of a sluggish economy but comfortable lifestyle has given way to a cost-of-living squeeze and growing pessimism about the future. Those on lower incomes are hardest hit, and it is from there that Sanseito is drawing much of its support.

When the political establishment is dominated by wealthy people who are staunch traditionalists, they’re not going to be quick to grasp the problems on the other end of society where they have limited immediate social contact- a billionaire isn’t going to have friends who work on the production line in a furniture factory. 

The obvious policies are also ones that generally don’t appeal to wealthy traditionalists who have benefited from the existing system – lowering trade barriers, increasing productivity, cutting red tape, and imposing progressive taxation to fund social programs.

It’s questionable if Sanseito would actually support any policy reforms that would address the problems it campaigns on, but that usually doesn’t matter to voters- too many immigrants using up limited resources is always a popular way to present a simple solution to a complex problem.

Oh my goooood. I cannot wait for the election to be over. I am so tired of hearing about and seeing sanseito every single day.
