It’s crazy how fast a country can go from free to not. The United States used to be the leader of the free world, now people get fired for making fun of the president, like what would happen in Russia, Iran, China, or North Korea. This kind of shit is just embarrassing, and so is maga fellating Trump over it.

This whole Paramount fiasco is going to make a great mini series one day. The behind the scenes bribes, conversations and hand wringing are going to make great television.

Can’t wait to watch it on Netflix, with Colbert as executive producer.

    3. This is simple. Ask Trump at a impromptu press conference, he’ll tell ya everything and give the amount

Part of me now suddenly wants to watch Colbert for the rest of his tenure, and hopes his ratings to skyrocket because of this. But the other part says fuck CBS.

Cancel Paramount+ & find alternate ways of viewing the shows you like…

    6. The practical take on this is simply that functionality as a nation demands the prosecution and conviction of Paramount and the individuals involved for bribery, with an appropriate penalty to stop this.

Far too much of the next presidential term will be judged solely on the DoJ and fundamental basics of functional governance.

Why are all the people who say they hate cancel culture saying they are celebrating this? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

„CBS, for its part, has said “The Late Show” was canceled as a “purely financial decision” that was “not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”

There’s the tell. It had nothing to do with the show. It had to do with the financial calculations of pleasure or displeasure of a sitting U.S. president.

      It was a bribe.

An investigation absolutely should be done.

The evidence for motive and opportunity has clearly been established. What’s left is an analysis that shows a financial disincentive for doing so (or at least I haven’t seen this). This should be easy to produce (by Paramount/CBS/SkyDance/Larry Ellison). It’s just a matter of cost of show versus revenue.

      Show us the receipts.

    10. oh man, how funny would it be for guild writers to boycott the network entirely.

Paramount seems to have pooped the bed. They’re already killing off Star Trek. They’re killing off Colbert I wouldn’t be surprised if the daily show was next. Paramount has their lips firmly pressed to the orange Mussolini’s ass.

    12. The palpable amount of bribery happening to please Jeffrey’s Epstein’s best friend of over ten years probably needs to be investigated. Imagine the irony; you got your m&a rich boys and girls and now a twelve year prison sentence

I would absolutely cancel my paramount subscription if it wasn’t a borrowed login from someone else.

    14. if companies can (bribe) lobby politicians then politicians can direct/own/control company decisions – it’s only fair – or neither should be the case..?

    15. I sincerely hope that Colbert spends every last minute of his time going absolutely feral on Trump and others. Invite Ms. Carol and Stormy Daniels down. Tear up every inch of them, kid gloves off. You think he was making fun of Trump before, turn the gage up past 11. Then take it further. No punches pulled, flat out straight till the final bell.
